ITINERARY
Duration: All day ( 9 am to 17 pm approx.)
Departure from Cusco in the direction of Umasbamba passing by the magnificent Piuray Lake, which permanently reflects the Andean sky like an immense natural mirror.
Upon arrival, our host family welcomes us with music and invites us into their home. Dancing is a must and the wind and percussion instruments take us into the deepest Andean world.
After a brief introduction of the family members, our hosts invite us to make the preparations for the “Pachamanca”, which means earthen pot. Indeed, the cooking of our food will be done with naturally heated stones and the snacks will be buried with due care to maintain the correct standards of cooking food.
Afterwards, we will take a short walk to obtain the necessary herbs for the corresponding “burial”.
When we return home, we will begin with the preparation of the Peruvian flag cocktail, the “Pisco Sour”. The whole process will be done together with our hosts, so that we can take note of the recipe and replicate it at home.
With the appetizer ready, we perform a small ceremony of gratitude to the Pachamama and then we participate in the “unearthing” of our food and the subsequent tasting. A delicacy!
For those who are daring in the culinary world, we propose the tasting of guinea pig (guinea pig) baked in the oven, as an option (ask for this service at the time of booking). Return to Cusco at the end of the day.
